Finding the Way
Have you ever had to go somewhere and had no idea where you were going? It's like you're driving aimlessly as Siri (or whatever/ whoever your navigation system) guide you into the abyss. In the summer of 2013, I drove from Louisiana to Ohio. After passing through Baton Rouge, it was unfamiliar territory to me. Siri could have led me to Jamaica and I wouldn't have known the difference. When I exited to Hammond, fear began setting in because I didn't know my way. Thankfully, our navigation systems are reliable most of the time and can guide us pretty accurately- along with road signs of course (although I somehow manage to still get lost). I did make it safely to Ohio after driving 17 hours with my navigation system and much prayer. Point is, we also have a navigation system for our lives. Life can get pretty bumpy at times, we may lose our way, get distracted, but God has a plan and purpose for our lives.
Many are searching- for the truth. In their search, it can get a bit frustrating because there's so many "truths" out there. It's like driving with no idea where you're going. You're not sure if you'll end up in the right place and may even hit the wrong turns a couple times, but it's okay. If you diligently search for truth, you will find it. Ultimately, your search will lead you straight to God. You know there's a God and He loves You, but that's about it. Today, know that God says "you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13 NKJV)
Many Christians have "found" God. Let me say this- Siri has led many in the wrong direction. Somehow, someway, many Christians have it wrong! That's a bold proclamation to make and may sound a little judgemental, but let me just keep it real for a minute. In Romans 12:1-2, we are commanded to "present your (our) bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:1, 2 NKJV) The problem is, we don't TRANSFORM anything. WE CONFORM TO THIS WORLD. I said once before, how can we transform our minds when we are constantly letting the world in- various media airways. In addition, these "Christians" are creating a new form of Christianity that says it's okay not to be Christlike. If Christ would still be in a tomb (He's risen, PRAISE GOD!), He'd be turning in His grave at how some of these Christians are acting. It's shameful and many people are following- blindly. We don't take the Gospel seriously anymore and it's a shame.
Nowadays, we serve God more for benefit than truly serving and worshipping Him for who He really is. We have a form of godliness, but deny it's power. (When I say "we", I refer to the body of Christ in general, not anyone specifically). We like the rewards of God, but not His correction. God said those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. It's time out for playing. It's time to truly find our way. His Word and Holy Spirit will lead and guide us into all truth. It can get a bit scary, but that's why God will never leave us. THAT'S OUR NAVIGATION SYSTEM- GOD'S WORD and HIS HOLY SPIRIT.
*It's time to get back to the purpose God has us here- love. God is love. God has graced us with power and love- and with power to love. "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." (I Corinthians 1:18) There's POWER in God. It's not a show thing. People are hurting and dying without fulfiing their purpose. Learn what the Gospel is all about. Don't settle for being a mediocre Christian; be the best that you can be. When I began traveling in unfamiliar territory heading to Ohio, fear tried to settle in. Fear of the unknown is one of the biggest fears that stifles us, but God will lead us. We just have to trust Him. If the Spirit of God dwells within you, then you are to be led by Him. He's all about His people, what about you? Where is your life navigation system leading you? Is the love of God guiding you?
Promise from the Father:
"Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! (I John 3:1 NKJV)
God bless & I love you! More importantly, God loves you!
